i am a very greatfull alcoholic today,i thought i would never say that. but when alcohol beat the shit out of me
for the last time the fellowship was there to pick me up
and love me till i could love my self. i owe my life to
alcoholics anonomous for helping me find my higher power
if it wern't for that i would not be alive today.
my new way of life today is just overwhelming.
thank you '' bart''

By the Grace Of God I was able to get sober and the 12 steps helped me to stay sober for just 24 hours a day, for the last 3 years. Doing that 1st step and getting HONEST is the most important part to my road of recovery. Thank-You

Found this sight by accident and really enjoyed it. Coming up on 12 years soon. I stopped drinking at age 20. Not many of us young drunks make it and I want to tell anyone who is under 20 and thinks that they are too young to put down the alcohol-IT CAN BE DONE. Give it a chance! It's a great gift and you DON'T need to suffer for 20 years to qualify as a drunk...

Hi, I've enjoyed this site and it's given me the inspiration to carry on for another day. I am in South Africa and don't belong to a group yet. I refused to admit that I had a problem and finally I accepted a job in Angola and only then, whilst surrounded by the harshness of civil war did I finally open my eyes. I have 240 days behind me (wow - can't actually believe it) I find it's still quite difficult to get through the daily stresses without thinking about drinking, but I know that I can't. Thanks for letting me share in your story's. "Ad Astra" (reach for the stars)

When people ask "How'd ya do it?" The first thing that comes to my mind is that I learned to accept the fact that I'm an alcoholic. For me admitting I was an alcoholic was very simple, I'd be a fool to believe otherwise. It wasn't until August 4th 1996 that I accepted the fact that I am an Alcoholic - So far I havent had a drink since. Please remember that it is much easier to STAY sober than it is to get sober! I know I spent 10 years to get the three that I have. GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US

I was a part of this fellowship from 1989 to 1994 and then i decided that there was other things in life I was missing by being sober and I drank again and I was out there 5 years. nothing's changed it's still the four horsemen on a daily basis when your an alcoholic like me. I am sooo grateful to be 86 days sober today- august 16,1999. The power of this fellowship is truly amazing to me !!! i have some really true friends in my life today and am learning how to be a true friend myself. I have listed my e-mail address and hope to here how recovery works for you. Diane

Hi everybody..Melissa here and I am an alcoholic. Grateful to be sober today and everyday:) Since I am part of the Innergroup I thought I better check this out. I was told it's like when I first came into AA, I needed to jump in and get involved and become a part of. That's what I am trying to do with Service work and help the conection of CO and my group. Hey, I am willing to try anything to stay sober. So far I haven't gotten a bad suggestion. I am so grateful for AA and God's Grace in my life today. I wouldn't trade my sobriety for anything. Reading what all of you have posted on the wall gives me a lot of hope. Thank you!! I am a 19-yr.-old college student who has recently found out that one of my closest friends has a serious drinking problem. Today I decided I would look on the Internet for some way to help him. All of your stories have been an inspiration. I hope I have what it takes. I love him very much, but I don't know if that is enough.

Just wanted to participate in signing the wall because if there is anything I have found out in Alcoholics Anonymous is that I have to become "one of the bunch"....if I don't become a banana, I'll sicken and die. Thanks to Woodbine Group for being there for me every day, no matter what, with hope, laughter and love.
