I have been around the program for about a year! in an out until i just about lost my mind I knew what to do but I just wasn't ready to give it up! The saying is very once you been in the program it really messes up your drinking so they put me back in treatment.for the 3rd time did'nt even no I was there for about a week (first time I had ever had a black out with gods & AA hopfully the last! A friend told me I had 3 choices to SOBER TO BE COVERED UP OR TO BE LOCKED UP Will I had soberup & I had been locked up an there was only one left an I almost accomplished that but someone up there was looking out for me and choose to call him GOD Today I know it's a WE PROGRAM NOT A ME PROGRAM!!!!!!

Here I am again trying to stay sober on another lonley night .I guess its true that a person will go to any length.I have done every thing tonite and now I am on my computer.I try to read the messages left here everyday and I am here to say that they have helped me a lot.My only wish is that I could attend more meetings in person,but I can not drive.Anyway,I would appreciate prayers. Came from a kick ass meeting tonight -- went to dinner with my sponsee and some AA friends -- god has been good to me. Learning to keep my heart grateful. Service is the key. As we know, a grateful heart doesn't drink; My AA brother's and sister's here is cyberspace help keep me sober. Be Good All. God Bless.

John and Jeremy. Regarding your post of 1/4/00. The quote is,"...as you trudge the Road OF Happy Destiny..." (not TO). The Road of Happy Destiny is not a destination it is the journey, it is where you are right this minute, if you so choose... try that attitude and maybe you will be more in tune to the first half of the following Webster definition of the word "trudge"...
From Webster:
"to walk or march steadily and usually laboriously"

There is always work to be done, but if we keep walking, we will see steady progress.
Finally, remember what is said about attitude...it IS all it's cracked up to be!!!!

My sponsor told me about this wall yesterday, and it's very cool!! This is the first wall that I did not have a burning desire to ram my head into!! I can see how stubborn I am at times, and I am really blessed to have a loving, caring sponsor who sees me doing the same things over and over, expecting different results, while she consistently shares the solutions. She doesn't judge me, she doesn't scold me, she just consistently and unconditionally loves me!! Peace be to my wonderful sponsor, whom I love dearly!!

I am a rockhound from Mississippi, and have found Middle Tennessee the most interesting and inviting place I've visited. I visited in July, and came back in August, because there was still so much to do. The only down side to my visit was seeing how dry everything was. Most of the creeks we even virtually dried up. We felt for the people there and we hope conditions are much better.

I sobered up 18.5 yrs. ago by doing it my way. Guess what, it didn't work. After 4.5 yrs. I got drunk. I have now been sober for 14.5 yrs. and have never looked back. All I know about getting and living sober is what not to do. I hope I keep making mistakes because I have learned from them and continue to do so.

This is a really great idea. It is very difficult learning to reach out. This forum will serve many. I can only express how extremly blessed I am. Eleven Christmas's ago, I spent my first sober Holiday at an alcathon at Serenity House. I was afraid to be alone. Today I have my family and friends as well as a wonderful life. In the fall of '93 I was sleeping on the floor of my brother's apartment trying to figure out how I was going to get my family to Nashville. I had been transfered with my company, we were living from pay check to pay check and very unhappy. I was getting drunk every night and womdering what all those people were doing at that house next door. When I got out of treatment I went back to that house and had my first meeting outside of the treatment center at 202. Thank God for AA and all of you.
