Hi everybody. I was looking for a place to go just to talk and this is where I ended up....God works in strange ways! I have been sober for a while. Things in my life are pretty good these days, although some areas could be better some could be worse. I am grateful for all I have in my life today. My son, family, and friends are the best! Still there is an emptiness inside of me........
I am living life but have no one to share it with. I am 34 years old and never been married. Lots of relationships in and out of sobriety.........most were very unhealthy and took place at times in my life that I was needy and facing issues in my life. I feel as if I am at a place in my life where a special someone would be a very healthy change for me and my son, but my problem is I have went so long by myself I forget how to meet people let alone let anyone in my life. People tell me that I will meet someone when my higher power thinks it's time. Well, call me impatient, but it has been a long, long time and all I am doing is getting old! I don't want to go to bars or meet someone who is actively drinking or using, so that narrows it down quite a bit. The men in the program around this area are either married, gay, dating,or are new-comers........if anyone has some experience strength and hope for me please share. Thanks for listening! More shall be revealed.

Hi there I find this site to be very interesting. Though I'm not an alcoholic, I'm doing a research on the role the media plays in promoting advertisements to teenagers. Parents influence in alcoholism? Are they responsible? Is it more possible for a teenager to drink if their parent/s drink? I would really be thankful of receiving help from any of you. Please help me.

I have only been going to AA meetings for less than two weeks, but already I feel as if a huge weight has been lifted from me. I now have the courage to face my short-comings and try to achieve the dreams I thought I could never actually accomplish. I have been warned not to replace one addiction with another, but I am getting hooked on meetings!

Last night I drank whiskey, this morning I got up and not because I was sick or had a headache because I had neither. I got down on my knees and asked God to help me and to take away my desire to drink. I am sick of me and I know how much better life is without alcohol. Then I got out my book and this time I know I can stop. What makes this time different is because I know God heard me & will be there for me and so will AA. Can anyone tell me how to go to online meetings.
